ERP for semiconductor environment

Posted Thu, 02/18/2010 - 3:11pm by Jeff Chase (CFO)
Details
I recently got asked regarding the selection or bidding of an ERP system for a fabless semiconductor company - I recently helped a semi with this and found that Tensoft FSM combined with GP Dynamics, seemed to be workable (never as good as a bundled ERP would be, but I haven't found any other good mid tier bundled package for semi).
I also have heard about Serus but don't know anyone using them.
I believe 1st tier ERP players would supply the functionality but let's assume for a start up SAP and Oracle are non starters due to cost. Any opinions on solutions besides the ones mentioned, to solve traditional problems- offshore CEM, lot tracking, variance tracking, shipping from off shore logistics, inventory control, plus all the traditional stuff- order management, inverted BOM (wafer into finished chips), GL integration, inventory controls etc. Thanks./jeff
