You control the email frequency from Proformative

Controlling email traffic is essential to keeping users happy. We do not wish to bother our members with incessant email traffic, and yet too much delay between someone asking a question and the membership reading and answering it may result in less utility to our users. The “default” for all users is one daily digest of events. But you have complete control over how much email you receive.
A lot of the email you receive is because of “subscriptions.” These usually take the form of subscriptions to a group that you joined or to a posting of some content (discussion, resource, etc.). Please keep in mind the difference between subscribing and joining. “Joining” involves becoming a member of a group. “Subscribing” means that you want email notifications when content changes or is posted. When you join a group, you are automatically subscribed to emails for that group.
Here are some important points about your email and subscriptions: Controlling default email settings: 1. Click on “Profile” in the left-side navigation area 2. On the next page, click on “Edit Account Settings” 3. On the next page, near the bottom, you can select your default frequency.
Controlling group email subscriptions (when you get email for content in a group):
- Click on “Email Subscriptions” in the left-side navigation area
- On the next page, choose the “groups” sub-tab (NOT the major “groups” tab at the top of the page).
- On the next page you can see your email settings for every group to which you are a member.
Change your email frequency by selecting or de-selecting the checkbox for each type of post in each group and select the frequency in the drop-down box. This allows you to turn on or off email from any or all of your groups and to choose the frequency of delivery (you can select immediate or a variety of digest modes) If you have comments or suggestions about either of the subjects above, please put them in this discussion thread or reach out to us directly via the “Help us improve” link at the top of every page.
