The Identity and Access Management Scenario for 2012

The IAM Scenario introduces many of the themes, trends, and technologies in the identity and access management market in 2011 – 2012, as well as providing a general overview of the Gartner research in identity and access management. Formal practice and program maturity will be front and center in 2012 for IAM professionals, and those with a maturing IAM program will be looking to go beyond just efficient and effective management of identities and access controls to providing actual business enablement. Other major themes include IAM for the cloud as well as IAM as a cloud service, as well as the relatively new ideas around identity intelligence.
