Most companies start out on QuickBooks. However, many companies grow their top and bottom line without growing their systems. Legacy technology can slow you down, increase costs and reduce company revenue and profitability. Many companies have remained on Quickbooks due to the cost upgrading to the functionality that their company really needs. However, current advances in cloud computing and related technologies have changed the economics of upgrading from QuickBooks to more robust accounting and financial systems. The content of this webinar will be focus on current and emerging trends in accounting and reporting systems for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) looking to move to upgrade from QuickBooks and/or related systems. Howie Friedman
CFO, DC Dental Supplies

Howie Friedman, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer of DC Dental Supplies, a distributor of dental products in the United States. DC Dental was the 2011 recipient of the Inc. 500|5000®, and recently opened up offices in New York and Ohio. Friedman has been with DC Dental since 2007, and is responsible for managing the financial risks of the corporation, as well as the financial planning, record-keeping and financial reporting; overseeing annual revenue grow from $10 million in 2007 to $25 million in 2011. In addition, Friedman was the project manager responsible for the company’s transition to NetSuite’s cloud business management suite. Prior to joining DC Dental, Friedman was with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Revenue Agent. Friedman received his Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Maryland. He was recently named a CXO award winner in SmartCEO magazine which appears in the March 2011 edition.

John has been CFO at four technology companies, a finance executive at Cardinal Health, and in multiple roles at AlliedSignal and Cisco Systems. John has raised over $100M in equity capital and debt and has played central roles in numerous buy and sell-side transactions for both public and private companies. As COO at two companies, John also ran Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Service operations. He has also founded, invested in and been a board member or advisor of a number of companies. John has a B.A. in Economics from Connecticut College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Senior Director, NetSuite

Paul has implemented and defined strategy for financial software applications for the past 15 years in senior product strategy, product management, software implementation, and channel roles. Paul is currently a Senior Director at NetSuite. Prior to NetSuite, at Hyperion (now Oracle), he was responsible for its financial consolidation, budgeting, planning and business intelligence technology strategy and roadmap. He also has worked on a number of financial planning, analytics and reporting implementations at Fortune 500 companies. At Callidus Software, Paul worked on integrating sales and finance departments on sales commissions deployments, and providing sales performance analytics at major telcos and insurance companies. Paul graduated with a first class honors BS in Computer Science from Lancaster University, England.
