What are some efficient ways for U.S. multinationals to maintain their books in other countries?

Given the complex set of accounting and tax regulations in each country around the globe, multi-nationals have to resort to a wide range of methods (duplicating their books), manually reconciling accounts, implementing multiple versions of financial systems, etc to comply with GAAP as well as the local tax and reporting regulations.

Forecasting standards from private to public

I am in a company that is preparing to do an IPO and therefore we need to have an accurate forecasting model. We currently use excel and am looking for something that is more accurate and user friendly in order to have more control and avoid excel mistakes. Any thoughts for this transition is appreciated.

Which software would you buy: @Risk, Analytica, or Oracle Crystal Ball for financial scenario simulations? I'd enjoy hearing about your experiences with Monte Carlo risk modeling.
