Are any of you using a purchasing system that is more applicable to a smaller organization? Ariba is too big for us but we are looking into what the best fit might be for a smaller organization.

How does your bank calculate interest expense on your loans?  If they use a 365 basis to calculate your daily interest factor, and then calculate the monthly interest based on actual days, then in February they will be getting an extra day's interest from you. 

Does anybody have direct experience integrating the Adaptive Planning Connector to QuickBooks? What is the depth of integration (i.e., to the transaction or to a summary by time period-account-class)? What is the performance like when synching?

Colleagues, In your experience, is it reasonable or necessary (either) to get this type of coverage for a not-for-profit?  What types of risk (primarily to board members, latterly to voluteers) should be of real concern, or is that superfluous in this situation?

I have my thoughts on this but was curious what the group thought was better training to be CFO and/or controller? MBA, CPA or neither? I recognize they are two different positions requiring different skills so opinions on which is better for both would be great. I am having a discussion with a collegue about this is the reason I am asking. Thanks in advance.

Excel and data management (including working with large volumes of data and databases) skills are often assumed upon finance and accounting professionals. However, some positions are better served by those who are exceptionally strong in this area. How does a hiring manager assess (or maybe test) Excel and data management skills in an interview?
