Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Turns to New CFO

Seeking a new financial boss with a wealth of experience in the media industry, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) recently appointed former Marvel Entertainment CFO Ken West to its open financial chief position.

West, according to a company release, had served as both executive vice president and CFO of Marvel since 2002 and has previously held similar positions with two other companies.

Martha Stewart, founder of MSLO, said in a statement that she was excited for West's "financial expertise" to become an asset to the company. President and chief operating officer Lisa Gersh echoed Stewart's sentiments, adding that West's experience with a notable entertainment company should help ensure a smooth transition.

"Ken is a proven and polished financial professional with specific experience in managing a high-profile, brand-driven company with segments that align closely with our publishing, merchandising and broadcasting businesses," Gersh said in the company release.

The appointment of West to the CFO position is the latest of a series of major moves made recently by MSLO. Most notably, the company named former A&E programming executive Michael Morrison as the executive producer of "The Martha Stewart Show," which is set to begin its seventh season later this month, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
