Mediware Concludes Executive Search, Promotes Controller to CFO

Healthcare software system provider Mediware Information Systems, Inc. announced recently that it has promoted its vice president and corporate controller to chief financial officer, effective February 15.

According to a company release, the decision concludes a national search for the new CFO, with Mediware selecting Robert W. Watkins, who has been involved with the company's financial operations for three years.

"Bob has been a tremendous asset to Mediware and I'm thrilled to see him expand his role at Mediware to lead our financial strategy and direction," Thomas Mann, president and chief executive officer, of the company, said in a statement. "Since joining Mediware in 2008, he has been a key part of our financial team, playing integral roles in five acquisitions and previously acting as our interim chief financial officer."

The Kansas City Business Journal reports Watkins will succeed Michael Martens, who announced his intention to resign from the Lenexa, Kansas-based company in November.

Prior to joining Mediware, Watkins served as corporate controller for agricultural and constrction equipment company Titan Machinery, the release noted.
