Hard copy of Stock Incentive Plan?

Do I have to provide our stock option grantees (employees) with a hard copy of the Stock Option Plan or can I send that to them via email in a PDF and just require an inked signature on the Agreement cover page?

I have seen most companies that I worked with in the past only providing soft copies of the document. In addition, you mention that you also plan to have an acknowledgement that the plan document was received by the plan participants.

Though it might sound redundant, it is always good to add a comment in the email that you plan to send out that hard copy of the plan document is available on request.
