IRC Sec. 382 - aka "Limitation on net operating loss carryforwards ownership change etc."
Jeff Chase (CFO, CPA, Anametrix, Inc.)
| Sep 8, 2010I'm trying to save $10 or $20K with my accounting firm and do my own self test on NOL limitation rules for a startup that's been around for many years - can anyone share with me their generic spreadsheet or model - trying to take an easier approach than diving into the regs at this point, thanks much. I promise to horsetrade with anyone that comes through, if I can ever reciprocate./jeff

Let me know if you still need assistance on this. Sec. 382 limits NOL usage due to an ownership change. Let me know the relevant facts as to what triggered the ownership change (acquisition, IPO, private equity shift, etc.) and what date you think this ownership change occurred. Just trying to cut to the chase. I am a tax director that has dealt with this many times before.
