Non-Profit Accounting Software
Jennifer Temen (Treasurer, SIFE )
| Feb 17, 2010I sit in on the board for the bank at Mansfield University. They are a non-profit bank and deal with the accounts of over 100 campus organizations as well as other parties, each having their own budgeted funds, allocated and unallocated, and are having a difficult time keeping pace with the cash inflows and outflows, etc. We are currently seeking a software which can handle the accounting aspects of such a diverse and sophisticated system and am hoping for some great suggestions.
Thanks.

Dear Jenn,
I still have problem maneuvering through Proformative’s discussion setup. I noticed some discussions about the QuickBooks application for non-profits and I am not sure if it was addressing your question or not. Anyway, I am QuickBooks Advanced Proadvisor and I helped few not for profit organizations with QuickBooks implementation. You would need Enterprise edition because of the security levels and then get yourself very knowledgeable QuickBooks advisor because the setup will require a combination of elaborate chart of accounts and classes. It’s doable and after the initial implementation pains it’s very user friendly.
Good luck!

Jenn - Of course the MacDonald's of the industry is Fund E-Z software for fund accounting. I have worked with it somewhat, and found it not difficult to navigate around, although it is a very strong system. I'm sure would accomplish everything you're looking to do. Hope this helps.
