Cloud Computing

Cloud computing refers to a model of information technology allowing for hardware and software to be remotely accessed on demand through the internet.  This model allows for firms to contract out their needs in terms of computing power, digital storage, hosting of software applications, and completion of computing tasks that would otherwise require the purchase and maintenance of in house network and computing technology and personnel.  Cloud computing may be offered in the forms of Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and...More Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Increasingly, firms are utilizing cloud computing applications to allow secured, ubiquitous access to critical information for employees and to manage fluctuating IT needs without directly purchasing the hardware to run the company’s systems.
