Mobility, cloud computing, the consumerization of IT and big data are among the top technology trends impacting enterprises this year, according to a recent survey by TEKsystems, a provider of IT staffing solutions.

The study, which asked 1,500 IT leaders about the effects of certain technologies on their organizations, revealed 76 percent believe mobile trends will have a high to extremely high impact this year. Meanwhile, 58 percent of respondents expect cloud computing to have a large impact on their organizations, while 53 percent said the consumerization of IT and 52 percent said social media.

"Considering the expectations IT leaders have about how these trends will affect their organizations, it's critical they ensure these highly impactful and highly visible projects are executed successfully," said TEKsystems director, Rachel Russell. "Most organizations know that strong partnerships between the IT and business functions are critical to success."

According to the study, IT leaders expect that adopting technologies like mobile devices and cloud services will increase employee productivity, improve customer satisfaction and help their organizations make better business decisions.

The TEKsystems survey produced similar results to a recent Unisys study, which revealed cloud computing, mobile devices, social media and big data are among the top technologies enterprises expected to invest in this year.
