Here is a list of some of the sites I frequent to stay on top of what is happening with SMBs.
A few weeks ago I came across a blog post that mentioned all of the blogger’s favorite blogs and online resources for his passion. This sparked an idea for me – why not list and give a little commentary on some of the blogs and other websites I frequent to fuel my passion for helping start-up, emerging, and medium-sized businesses. Here it goes, in no particular order:
Entrepreneur.com: Great blogs, articles, and videos to keep you inspired, motivated, and informed.
BizSugar: A site for sharing small business news and tips. This is an aggregator, of sorts, that works like Digg but only for content relative to small and emerging business.
Forbes for Entrepreneurs: Great information from some well-known folks.
Inc.: Some of the best case studies and examples on the web, plus lots of other great content. My favorite was when their entire office worked from home for a month and tested all of the tools and other solutions to make work effective, efficient, and hopefully maintain communication levels.
Small Business Trends: Anita Campbell has built an empire around content for small businesses. This is one of my favorites. Also, you can listen to all of Anita’s past radio interview, and you’ll find my interview with her in the archive as well.
Mark MacLeod’s Startup CFO blog: Mark is an expert in finance for SaaS and other high-tech start-ups. He is very well respected in his field and he has helped many companies get funding as their
Ben Paramore’s Beyond Beans Blog: Ben is a successful CFO that seems to be an expert in middle market companies. His posts are always insightful and thought-provoking.
Mike Campbell CPA: Don’t be confused by the
Small Business Labs: The authors of this blog are very smart and their posts are always factually and statistically sound.
The Entrepreneurial Mind: Dr. Jeff Cornwall always has great information to share on his blog. He is an entrepreneurship professor at Belmont University and very involved in
Steve Blank’s Blog: Steve is a very successful ex-
Walker Corporate Law Blog: Scott Walker is not a typical attorney, and he writes great information relevant to start-up and emerging companies.
SEO.com Blog: These guys know their stuff and their posts are informational and helpful, especially for businesses trying to master their use of SEO and search engine
Small Business CEO: Resources and Knowledge for the small business CEO.
Venture Hacks: Their tag-line reads – good advice for startups. I agree.
America’s Best Business Practices Blog: Mike Clough always has something interesting to say about running and growing a business.
New York Times Small Business: They don’t have new content everyday, but what they do put up is usually worth a read.
Seth Godin’s Blog: I have been a fan of Seth for quite some time – he writes about daily and his takes are always fresh.
Proformative: This is a great site for
