How ‘Modern Modelers’ Will Take Over the World of Financial Analysis

Date: Friday, April 24, 2015
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT There are no CPE Credits for this Solution Demonstration.
In today's financial planning world, a new role of the modern financial modeler is emerging to bridge the gap between financial operations and strategic finance. This modern modeler is tasked to bring ad-hoc spreadsheet analysis and centralized financial planning and analysis environments together by taking individualized financial inputs and fitting them into a governed and centralized corporate management environment. To truly bridge this gap, the “modern modeler” needs a suitable FP&A environment that can bring the products of flexible spreadsheet macros and on-demand formulas into a structured, governed, and centralized corporate environment.

This webinar will discuss the facets of this new role in detail, including the skills and background needed for success. It will also discuss the strategies and tools that provide for transition to this role for individuals, and for success in this approach for the companies themselves. A framework for success and real-world use cases will be discussed. Finally, best practices and pitfalls to avoid will be covered, along with Q&A from a highly qualified panel of speakers.
After attending this event you will be able to:
Recognize the skills needed for the “modern modeler”
List best practices and pitfalls in moving to this set of skills
Detail the technology and processes that support moving to the “modern modeler” capability

Event Sponsor Tidemark
Tidemark - Tidemark doesn't think that you can move forward while looking back. An historical, database-structured view of the world is not the way businesspeople see the world. They don't have time to learn the intricacies of advanced modeling tools. They don't ask questions in SQL. They need information, now. They need today's context. And they need to know their options and the implications of each—before the decision window closes. Tidemark's unified performance management apps give all decision makers real-time analytics, complete with their personal business contexts. Now they know what if, why, and what to do about it. They can look forward, instead of back. And because Tidemark apps are delivered from the cloud, your team always has what they need, anywhere they happen to be.
