Introduction to Payroll Accounting

This webinar prepares you with the basic knowledge needed to administer the accounting for payroll. We start with a brief overview of payroll accounting. We will discuss debits, credits, liabilities, and assets. We walk through an example of recording journal entries for payroll transactions and accruals for a month.

  • General employer payroll liabilities: such as liabilities for employee compensation, liabilities for employee payroll withholdings, and liabilities for employer payroll taxes.

Shirley Brickous has worked in the payroll and human resource field for 25+ years. She has experience in the private and government sectors and has held the positions of Payroll Tax Accountant, Assistant HR Manager, Payroll Manager, and Director of Payroll & Payroll Tax Operations Shared Services. Shirley holds her BS in Accounting, MSA in Accounting, and is currently pursuing her DM in Organizational Management. She has the designations of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
