An IPO is an exciting event in a company’s life-cycle. However, life as a public company introduces a broad range of new expectations and additional responsibilities. This session will share real-life experiences, considerations and best practices to help ease the transition to public life. We will discuss our experiences based on companies who have “been there and done that”. Specifically, covering systems controls, system change management, access & security and segregation of duties.
After attending this event you will be able to:
Define expectations of a Public company.
Identify typical challenges encountered on the path to Public company readiness.
Articulate lessons learned from companies that made the public company transition.

Jason is a Partner at Connor Group and leads the Financial Operations practice.

Jason brings over 15 years of accounting and operational experience, working with high-growth and technology companies. As the Financial Operations Leader at Connor Group, he has helped and guided over 30 companies in preparing for being public, planning and managing their IPO plan and/or improving operations and controls shortly after the IPO. Jason is an expert in helping clients drive business transformation through improved processes, systems, controls and organizational changes. Jason focuses on high-growth and technology companies, where he works across all finance and accounting functions, helping clients define their business strategy/goals and aligning resources and stakeholders to achieve desired business objectives

Jason was formerly a Director in the Project Management office at McAfee and a Director at KPMG in its advisory practice. He also served as an auditor with Andersen, KPMG and PwC. During his career, Jason served large global clients such as Google, Polycom, VMware, Sony Picture Entertainment, Sun Microsystems and recently public companies, such as Etsy, RingCentral and numerous other pre-IPO high-growth companies.

Jason graduated from the University of Cape Town with Honors in Finance and Accounting.
