The New World of Revenue Recognition: Industry Impacts and Transition Options

Date: Thursday, October 23, 2014
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
The new standard for revenue recognition is presumably a “principles-based” standard to be applied consistently across all industries. However, multiple views of the impacts the new standard will have across different industries have quickly developed, and are continually evolving. How do you stay informed regarding what is relevant to your company?

Join revenue recognition expert, Jeff Tchir, Director of Revenue Accounting, Silver Spring Networks as he explores this ironic, but realistic view by discussing the impact of the new standard on particular industries including:

  • Enterprise Software
  • Networking and Telecommunications
  • Contract Manufacturing
  • Cloud-based Services
  • Semiconductors
  • Construction

Jeff will also outline the three options for retrospective adoption, the nuances of each alternative, and share why the decision will depend on the market’s view of your company.

After attending this event you will be able to:
Discover why a “rules-based” version of the “principles-based” standard will be applied in practice
Understand how the new standard could impact specific industries
Identify how the external market may view certain adoption strategies for the new revenue recognition standard
