Steve is Director of the Emerging Company Services (ECS) group at PricewaterhouseCoopers. ECS acts as “mentor capitalists” for young, high potential companies Before joining PwC, Steve had 20 years of experience in a variety of marketing, business development and general management roles at several high tech companies in the Bay Area. Most recently, he was President/CEO of, a leading international emarketing and greeting card company. He works closely or sits on the Advisory Board at Churchill Club and the Stanford/MIT Venture Lab, has taught classes on start ups at UC Berkeley, San Jose State, Santa Clara Law School, Hastings Law School, and Stanford, and is active in a variety of other organizations in the Bay Area targeting entrepreneurs and investors. Steve received his BA in Economics and MBA from Stanford University.

Claire is based in our Silicon Valley Office and has over 15 years of experience with PwC. In addition to managing the Emerging Company Services Practice, she delivers high quality service to a portfolio of emerging companies, currently primarily in the life sciences sector. She excels in assisting companies manage through transition. She has extensive SEC experience; assists public and private companies in addressing complex issues including equity transaction accounting, revenue recognition accounting, preparing for an IPO and Sarbanes Oxley 404 implementation. Claire has participated in several Initial Public Offerings, Carve-Outs, Merger and Acquisition transactions, and 10 A investigations. Claire is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPA’s. She is also a Chartered Accountant. She was a contributing author to our "Roadmap to an IPO" Guide. Claire is an active community leader participating on non-profit Boards/Committees including Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, United Way Silicon Valley, and SV Forum.

As COO at two companies, John also ran Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Service operations. He has also founded, invested in and been a board member or advisor of a number of companies. John has a B.A. in Economics from Connecticut College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
