Transforming AP from Tactical to Strategic

Date: Thursday, November 10, 2016
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
As companies begin to plan for 2017 the need to drive strategic change will become more important. No longer can a vital function like accounts payable be considered “just accounting”. Companies depend upon their suppliers to deliver goods / services at the right time / place / cost to optimize the company’s performance with its customers. Building stronger relationships with a company’s suppliers / vendors require the company to manage its operational risks (right payments to the right vendors) and estimate / forecast cost through negotiation of best future prices according to vendor terms.
After attending this event you will be able to:
Understand the 2017 Business environment (higher interest rates, operational risks from fraud, importance of good business relationships in a “lumpy” economy)
Identify a company’s cash conversion cycle – AP’s role and integration with other business units
Understand the AP master vendor file – it starts with valid vendors
Recognize the benefits from going “beyond tactical"
