Transitioning from Spreadsheet Budgets

Date: Wednesday, July 20, 2016
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
85% of us use spreadsheets as the primary tool in the budgeting process but 80% of us report being less than satisfied and according to the Wall Street Journal, 90% of spreadsheets have errors. The Office of the CFO is having to respond to not only demand for faster and more efficient budgeting but demand for more frequent and accurate forecasts. This change has increased the frequency and magnitude of errors occurring, making spreadsheets less and less suitable for dealing with this new world.

This webinar looks at how we can transition away from spreadsheets to a more structured solution. We will discuss the issues that need to be addressed in the transition, specifically:
  • Identifying the problems with our current budgeting process
  • Considering how we can get beyond budgeting
  • Specifying our desired solution and any interim steps in getting there
  • Vetting vendor solutions and alternatives
  • Managing the change process and implementation
After attending this event you will be able to:
Identify the problems with our current budgeting process
Recognize how we can get beyond budgeting
Specify our desired solution and any interim steps in getting there
Understand how to vet vendor solutions and alternatives
Manage the change process and implementation
