Understanding International ACH (Automated Clearing House)

This webinar will cover the benefits and processes for using Automated Clearing House (ACH), the electronic network for financial transactions, for making international payments. ACH is a reliable, cost effective and predictable alternative to the traditional wire or a check for payments to recipients and other companies in other countries.

Jane Hennessy, Chief Compliance Officer, Oak Financial Software will discuss:
  • What international ACH is, how it works, and the differences between U.S. and international ACH
  • Customer benefits
  • Different payment types, and the process flow
  • When to use international ACH versus wire methods

We will also discuss the International Payments Framework Association (IPFA) and how it offers a potential solution for doing international ACH. Finally, statistics and information on the NACHA IAT (International ACH Transaction) will be covered.

Jane is an independent banking and payments consultant for global, regional and community financial services organizations. She works on a variety of projects including strategy, marketing and branding, website re-design, training and product development. Jane is on the Board of Directors of Oak Financial Software Corporation, a start-up focused on mobile international financial services products for Hispanics. She is also serving at the Chief Compliance Officer for the company. Prior to this position, Jane was a Group Personnel Manager in Wells Fargo’s Wholesale Banking Group. She worked at Wells Fargo for nearly twenty two years. Jane was recently a member of the West Coast Advisory Board for the Institute of International Education. She has spoken extensively at conferences on topics including payments, authentication and retail banking.
