The World is Moving to “Modern Finance and Accounting”. Are You Ready?

Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
On top of increasing demands, more stringent regulations, and expanding areas of focus, management now requires enhanced visibility into real-time financial data in order to monitor and report on progress towards strategic objectives and mitigate business, governance, and compliance risks.

Traditionally, these tasks were siloed and managed through manual processes and poorly connected systems and organizations. Adopting a “Modern Finance and Accounting” mindset and implementing changes to automate and enhance the control and visibility over mission-critical accounting and finance processes is necessary to stay ahead in the current environment.

This webinar will discuss bringing processes such as the financial close, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and internal controls reviews into the “Modern” mode of finance and accounting in order that they can be made significantly more efficient and effective. Best practices will be discussed in each area of review along with strategies for bringing them together effectively and efficiently.
After attending this event you will be able to:
Identify how “Modern Finance and Accounting” automates these processes, freeing up precious accounting and finance resources to focus on more strategic activities.
Recognize how “Modern Finance and Accounting” provides increased visibility into enterprise performance to improve strategic and tactical decision-making.
Consider how “Modern Finance and Accounting” increases controls around the various close activities, yielding accurate financials and reducing the risk of errors and fraud.

Throughout her career as both an auditor and various management positions within Accounting, Susan recognized that the traditionally manual processes within the financial close were not only inefficient but often times exposed companies to risk. She began to focus on process improvement around the close, helping accounting teams reduce their workload and instead use their analytical skills to focus on other value-added activities, all while enhancing controls around those processes. She now spends her time attending conferences, tradeshows and other venues to educate companies on ways in which they can optimize their financial close processes along with having great control around them.
