NetSuite is great software for forward thinking businesses. It's fast and extremely reliable. The code is generally rock solid, it does what it says it's supposed to do, assuming things are setup properly (caveat). And it does so many things. There in lies the challenge. It won't throttle you. You have to carefully decide how many features are valuable to your business, lest you fall down a rabbit hole of complexity. The customization features are robust, and quite powerful. Especially with Oracle SQL in the formula fields, and JavaScript for custom coding. The one criticism I have is support. There are few places where I've needed small bugs to be actually fixed and they call it an "unavailable product enhancement" that I can post and vote on in the forums. They have a roadmap and they don't deviate. So you have to satisfied with what's delivered and that's that. Overall, I think most businesses will be satisfied once they work through the growing pains of getting the system up and running.

It's easy too use, but need to modify lots of stuffs to generate the proper reports from this. The most headache I had with this is the foreign exchange rate changes which we still could not figure out exactly.

So far NetSuite has been agreat new ERP product for our company. It is light years ahead of what we used in the past and the reporting possibilities are amazing. All in all i would say it was a great switch for our company.

I needed a cloud solution since we opened two international offices - India and Spain - so I did not want to manage multiple Accounting packages. With NS, it allowed me to doing things like outsource my AP to the India office. NS has all of the standard accounting functions and it is a good platform to leverage, HR and Payroll. My only negative is that it does not have the best UI. It is sort of clunky.

In 2005, we selected NetSuite between 10 different solution providers in an RFP process. In the final selection process, NetSuite won the final stage in the customer references were they were able to providing raving fans while the competitors were not able to.

Over the past 8 years, our company has grown significantly and we have had to change nearly all of our processes to serve our customers. The key value of NetSuite has been the ability to make continuous improvements with the system as our company changes. Today, we use NetSuite for the sales force and customer service groups, manufacturing and distributing through our warehouses, traditional ERP and finally technical support. We have also been able to make most of these changes with internal staff.

We have found that the total cost of ownership is significantly less for dynamic companies. We do not buy servers anymore and we have been able to keep our IT staff low despite our growth. Our IT staff have become business process improvement managers where they can add value to the company versus the traditional role of maintaining database servers.

The cloud-based solution is outstanding for organizations with personnel in multiple locations domestically or abroad with the continuous availability to current data.

I would recommend NetSuite for dynamic and growing companies. We plan to continue to use NetSuite for the foreseeable future.

In my business I provide CIO and CFO support to several companies - from pre-revenue start-ups to companies with over $300MM in revenues. Selfishly, I could not do this without leveraging the NetSuite Cloud. For the companies that I do manage via NetSuite, we have had great success implementing the product, getting clients up to speed on how to use it as well as enjoying the wealth of information the system provides from the front office to the back office. I often tell customers, being able to use NetSuite allows us to provide them with the same service that NASA Mission Control provided the astronauts of the Apollo space program. We know what, where, when and why about any aspect of a client company 24/7/365 across pretty much any device mobile, desktop, laptop, etc.

We moved from QuickBooks to NetSuite and it was money well spent. We are a global operation, and NetSuite handles our various currencies with ease. We can now analyze data and pull out information in multiple ways. The business metrics we can now access are almost unlimited. Not only has it helped manage the finance side, but we are providing useful information to the business side as well. Consolidations of our various subsidiaries are also much more seamless as easy to pull together.

I would tell them to be careful when using this software

What I liked most
Basic accuracy

What I liked least:
Software engineers had been allowed to program in (hard code) financial ratios for the KPI's, and the ratios are not correct. The manufacturing bills of materials are very basic and can not be effectively used in developing EOQ's and managing inventory parts levels easily.

They promise the moon and deliver far less when it comes to enhancements. Requesting a change will be ignored unless it is very easy. I understand that this software is very good for a software company. Do not count on it working well with complex multi-layered, multi-step manufacturing.

I have implemented NetSuite at two different companies, one a software/distribution company and one a software/services company. The implementations were on time and on budget. NetSuite has given us the ability to increase revenues, margins and profits by allowing the entire organization to see on a real time basis the results of our actvities and make adjustments earlier than before. The system is easy to use and we have been able to leverage our growth by not having to add additional personnel in both IT and finace.

Pro: 1. well established cloud ERP app 2. have seen great improvement over the year 3. good up-time record Con: 1. probably same with all cloud apps, the vendor takes a hands off approach on user support and training. the experience so far is a hit & miss. when calling the support line, it usually takes a while to explain the issue. trouble shoot would take even more effort.

Overall, NetSuite is a very good product in China for SMBs, especially those doing business internationally and experiencing rapid growth.

The system is quite flexible and can do many things that others cannot, although it does require you to have someone with experience in their customized programming language to get very automated/advanced.

NetSuite has helped a lot of Chinese companies go international very easily and cost-effectively, because only a new username/password is required. Also, many other "homemade" systems we have seen are slower, especially within China, and less stable/resilient.

Cons are there however, and for China, that means localization issues. Financial reporting to the government is not something that is easily customized, and can require use of a small, inexpensive Chinese system that needs to be integrated. It is still worth it to do this, but it isn't ideal.

The e-commerce area of NetSuite fails quite largely in the area of Alibaba - there is no integration here with Alibaba. Because most people in China use that, clients either have to do a sort of manual/semi-automatic process to reconcile Alibaba payments, or they need to use another system altogether. Trigger Networks is currently working on this issue.

I used this software for 2+ years at a global services and supply company with annual revenues growing 5 to 7M. The Company had installed 2 years prior, when at 700k. NetSuite is top-tier cloud-based ERP system with strong web-store integration features. Very customizable (e.g. segregating user rights and views), with work flows and ability to analyze against almost any field, standard and custom. Positives: Always works, access anywhere (clould/SAAS), workflow and approvals, tight webstore integration, payroll, expense reporting, etc. Good forex features too. Negatives: financial reporting is restrictive with canned reports and limited ability to customize views, analytical/metrics are limited to 1 dimension. System can get pricey, especially when deploying across an entire organization (e.g. time & expense, order processing, inventory, etc.). NetSuite is definitely a system to look at if you are a growing business (path to 5M and beyond), sell items online and have staff and/or offices in multiple locations.

The NetSuite product has many advantages over other ERP type systems. The cost of the core product, and various modules is very reasonable, and since it's internet based, maintenance costs are all up front. I really love the flexibility of the system and ease of getting data out of the database using excel. It also enables streamlining of fundamental accounting processes. Also, implementation isn't very difficult (as compared to some other systems). As with many systems, there are certain drawbacks: - There is a (serious) lack of internal controls within the GL and AP modules. Anyone considering this system should carefully evaluate their control needs and make sure NetSuite is able to meet them. - The images saved on the system (e.g., vendor invoices) may be lost or expensive to recover if you ever decide to change from the NetSuite product.

I have used NetSuite's SaaS based accounting software in a multi-currency, multi-entity environment and found it to be very user friendly and comprehensive. The company was professional and responsive. Their technical support could be a little better and easier to work with.

We have been using Netsuite for the last 3 years. I think Netsuite is a robust solution with a very intuitive interface. I haven't used all the different modules but have been impressed with the reporting and ease of navigating throughout the system.

We have been NetSuite users since mid-2008. The experience has been good. The product is very easy to use and very dependable. Queries and ad hoc reports are simple and fast. We have a significant amount of deferred revenue and the NetSuite deferred revenue module is the best I have ever seen with no Excel necessary. Lyle Newkirk CFO - Corrigo
