Quickbooks is an easy to use comprehensive package that meets the needs of small business. You can set up multiple companies and accounts and track each of them easily. Categorizing income and expenses is simple and can be learned quite easily. I have used quickbooks for about 10 years and have not had any big issues with the software. The only feature that we were not able to use easily was downloading the bank statements from Bof A directly into quickbooks. We also had issues with downloading the American Express charges directly into Quickbooks.

Quickbooks also makes it easy to set up users with different levels of access. I think that for small business, Quickbooks is a great product.

Quickbooks is a comprehensive, easy to use Accounting software program. The ease of use is it's best feature. I started using it 12 years ago, with NO experience and was able to teach myself the ins and outs without any trouble. It provides great reporting tools that are highly customizable as well as an assisted-payroll that makes paying employees and payroll taxes a snap! I highly recommend for a small business looking for a simple yet refined solution for accounting/payroll.

The Quickbooks software is easy to use and user-friendly. We utilize it to keep the books and records for multiple partnership entities. The help function on Quickbooks enables the user to utilize the experience of other users to answer frequently asked questions.

Quickbooks is alternatingly great and frustrating. It's great at being a basic bookkeeping application with a reasonable set of built-in reports, that's easy to set up and use. However, it is definitely small company focused and it has some real quirks. My favorite is that you can't run cash flow reports for more than one period. That is, you can't run the CF report for, say, the past 8 months by month. You can only run it for the entire 8 month period. That drives me nuts and has been an issue for as long as i have been using QB (which is longer than i care to admit). It's also not good at managing assets, tracking inventory, managing the PO process and a bunch of other things. That said, it's practically free. And for "practically free", I'll take a few feature omissions in order to get the core capabilities. One thing i would highly recommend is to have it hosted. There are many hosting platforms out there, and if you want to share QB with others in your company or outside of your company, such as a part-time bookkeeper, this is a must. It recently ran a company of mine something like $50/month and was very worthwhile.

What I liked most
Ease of setup and ongoing use.

What I liked least:
Cash flow reports can only be run for a single period at a time.
