we are in the rental industry. good underwriting is essential. 1. trustworthy with proper ID 2. rules regarding method of payment is adhered to i.e. credit card authorization and ongoing authorization for those that extend 3. follow up with customer on return date etc. Achilles heel- rental can also be paid by a third party but some of the rental is the customers responsibility i do not want to hinder enthusiasm of our front line team especially in customer service but many times they do not follow up properly and we cannot collect. (credit card cannot be authorized any more because of the time it took the front line team to get further authorization.) overdue return is causing a receivable problem too re: credit card further authorizatiion. so what kind of bonus program to put into place for revenue they generate and cannot be collected. important to remember that the revenue is acknowledged at the close of the contract but the funds are still in a receivable position. thank you.
