Quickbooks hosting

Can someone please recommend a hosting provider for Quickbooks? We don't want to continue supporting it with internal hardware and IT for a variety of reasons. Thank you.

Have you looked at Intuit's online version of Quickbooks? (Ingeniously called "Quickbooks Online.") It lacks some features of the desktop version, but it is a good product for simple operations.

Thanks for the note but i have looked at that and read the pretty extensive discussion on Proformative and that's really not going to work for my company. So we are still on QB but want multi-location access w/o the headache of managing our own on-site QB server (been there - it's not fun) and am thus looking for a place to host it. Thank you, though.

Right Networks or Insync are great options according to Renee Mengali, a CPA I asked offline.

I agree, Right and InsynQ (the company I work for) are two of the top ranked providers. When someone is shopping around though, I always advise that they at least go with an Intuit authorized hosting provider. This narrows the list down to the more reputable providers.

I also recommend getting a demo, as each provider tends to deliver QuickBooks in the cloud with slight differences. A solution that works well for one business might not be the best for another business. So be sure to check out a few of your options before making a decision.

I echo John on this one. I've been recommending Right Networks for years.

Great customer service. They can also host all of of your MS Office applications on their remote desktop. Pricing is very reasonable. Security is rock solid.

We're using 8x8 in San Jose. We also looked at QB Online, and it doesn't work.

is 8x8 a generic hosting outfit, or do the specifically do QB hosting? I ask b/c the latter types are QB experts with all of the infrastructure you would want, including, importantly, the care and feeding of the server, software updates, etc. Thank you.

I tested their services for a client and it works exactly like desctop installed QuickBooks. You can access it from multiple locations and computers. You just need Internet access.

I agree with Renee's comments. Insync is a provider specializing around QB Hosting. They do a nice job and works from any location that has internet access.

We're a small hi-tech manufacturing company, and currently run Quickbooks Premier Addition 2010 as our ledger system.

It's been our experience that Quickbooks is not sufficient to adequately manage our inventory & supply chain practices...but we're not quite ready to switch to a full ERP system yet.

So we're looking for a 'bolt-on' database to manage inventory that fully integrated with Quickbooks.

I've heard "Fishbowl" works well as a inventory database to support Quickbooks - has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Fishbowl or any other inventory packages?

Has anyone successfully used the Quickbooks Manufacturing package?

Any insight or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I've subscribed to Quick Books On Line and have found it dissimilar to its Quick Books 2009 "cousin" I use at work. I would like to utilize a updated version (2010 or soon to be released 2011)for my own educational and business purposes.

With so many SaaS offerings out there, is there a site for utilizing Quick Books 2010 for a monthly fee WITHOUT buying the software off the shelf. Or am I missing the boat in my perception of SaaS in this case?

There are hosted solutions that address your needs. I have found Swizznet (www.swizznet.com) to be the best of the offerings available. They host the latest QB Premiere and QB Enterprise versions, giving you remote, secure, affordable access to your QB files. You can contact Kristin Callan, Director of Client Services if you have questions, or would like a demo.
I may sound like a promotion for the Co., but that is only b/c of the success I've had with their product (and failures I've experienced with others).

Hi,
I am looking for more info on Insync and can't find them. Are they still in business? Might you have a link for them?

Thank you!

InsynQ.com or cpaasp.com can provide more information regarding InsynQ QuickBooks Hosting. InsynQ was actually the first company authorized by Intuit.

You can find information about the various Intuit-authorized QuickBooks hosting providers on the "running QuickBooks in the cloud" blog ( qbcloud.wordpress.com ) . InsynQ was the first provider authorized, and is authorized in both the US and Canada to host QB.

We’ve found that Right Networks®, out of Nashua, New Hampshire (http://www.rightnetworks.com/) is close to ideal. They’re the largest Intuit-authorized QuickBooks® hosting company (15,000+ users). They’re a Microsoft® Licensed Service Provider (required to host QuickBooks® legally), and as a user you can see and run your own application license. They support multiple versions of QuickBooks with no problem, and QB add-ons are not an issue either. Integration with Microsoft® Word®, Excel®, and Exchange® 2010 is seamless. We let them handle the nightly backups, but we can also drag-and-drop files and copy them to our personal PC hard drives to augment what they’re doing “offline”. And anytime we’ve had questions, they’ve got US-based support by phone, email, and web.

The only concern I have with hosting providers who utilize proprietary technology is... how can they provide an assurance that the apps will work correctly (today AND tomorrow) if the applications are deployed in a proprietary platform?

I've noticed that there are a lot of folks talking about QB hosting, but not referencing providers who have been authorized by Intuit. How important is Intuit's authorization of a host for QB (how important to you?)?

Try Swizznet. I've been using them for several years with clients of mine. Their customer service is outstanding and their pricing is in line with others out there.
