David L. My thirty (30) years of practical financial, operational, and technical experience has spanned the executive boardroom to the manufacturing shop floor across a diverse set of industries including manufacturing, retail, transportation / logistics, government, consumer products and technology. Chief Operating Officer : American International Tile - [2002-06 to 2008-07]
Responsible for the overall performance of all Chicago area retail and distribution locations. Analyzed operational and strategic issues and implemented the necessary changes to improve performance. Developed senior management Team through training and progressive methodologies. Grew Company sales by 5% while reducing operating expenses and improving margins.

Chief Financial Officer : StyleMaster, Inc. - [2000-06 to 2002-07]
Responsible for all the financial activities of a $25 M plastics manufacturing company. Streamlined the financial reporting, reducing the month end close from 10 days to 4. Renegotiated and administered employee benefits. Coordinated the move from three locations into one 660,000 sq ft. facility, saving the company approximately $300k in annual expenses. Lead the company through an extensive reorganization and Chapter 11 when Kmart (StyleMaster’s largest customer) filed bankruptcy in 2001.

Controller : Van Leer Packaging - [1984-02 to 2000-06]
Led factory controller Team chartered with reporting of all U.S. operations. Developed strong finance Team, with focus on internal customers and value creation. Contributed information and data to most strategic and operational decisions. Trained personnel in ERP systems upgrades for year 2000 compliance.
Also worked at worldwide headquarters Van Leer Services, BV in The Netherlands. Provided coordination and support function to various international subsidiaries (closing and budgeting activities). Provided the Executive Board with investment analysis for / from the various operations. Administered the investment process (fixed assets & acquisitions) for the Group, including justification (cash flow, IRR, payback) and recommendations, annual budgeting, post auditing and progress reporting. Served as the conduit between Board and Group Business Units on Executive Board decisions. Coordinated reporting (incl. budgeting and strategic planning) for global Business Units.
