Mr. White has extensive, senior-level finance experience in start-up, medium-sized, and high profile hardware and software companies. His experience includes companies with international operations and substantial M&A activity. Responsibilities include asset management, financial planning, reporting and analysis, risk management, legal, human resources, investor relations, and information technology and systems implementations. Recently, completed the sale of SpringSource to VMware for $445M. At SpringSource was one of four key members of the executive management team for Benchmark and Accel funded open-source company that grew to 160 employees, $30M run rate and operations in 9 countries in 27 months.

 

Experience

CFO : SpringSource, Inc - [2008-01 to 2009-10]
Success fully built company from Series A financing to $445M exit. Revenue increased from $2-3M per year to $30M run rate • Key member of senior management responsible for all general and administrative functions including legal, HR, facilities and accounting Responsible for working closely with the COO and VP Sales closing sales contracts. • Managed a team of 15. Major Projects: • Sold sale of Company to VMware for $445M within 27 months of founding. Sale closed 75 days after signing letter of intent. • Completed four acquisitions of private companies in 18 months, including stock and asset based transactions at valuations up $20M, • Closed Series B financing led by Accel for $15M in April 2008 and follow-on Series B on the same terms in April 2009 which raised an additional $12M from VMware, DAG and Meritech. Company valuation of $150M in April 2008 and over $200M in April 2009. • Build entire G&A intrastructure from scratch.

CFO : Transitive Corporation - [2001-02 to 2008-12]
• Key member of senior management responsible for all general and administrative functions including legal (IP and corporate), budgeting & financial planning, US & UK GAAP, and multi-national tax reporting. • Responsible for working closely with the CEO and VP Sales closing sales contracts. Major Projects: • Closed Series D financing led by Meritech for $12M; C financing led by Accel for $11M, and Series B financing led by Crescendo for $10M. Company valuation increased by over $100M. • Completed extensive due diligence in proposed acquisition of the company. • Closed major complex customer contracts ranging from $10M to $50M with large OEM’s. • Directed group restructuring project allowing move of headquarters to Silicon Valley; led set up of transfer pricing plans. • Managed installation of new systems, including integration with salesforce.com CRM system and web sales. • Collected over $5M U.K. R&D allowances.
