Steve Peterson



The secret to my success isn't a secret. It's a lifestyle of seeking to do great things no matter what role or size of organization that I am working for or client that I am supporting. 

As a business pro, I leverage a deep financial background to help companies improve operations, processes, sales and marketing.  Starting my career as a CPA, I accelerated to the role of CFO for divisions of public companies as well as start-ups.  I have secured funding, managed acquisitions on both the buy and sell side, reorganized debt and put in new accounting systems to manage growth.  

As an entrepreneur, started two companies that were successfully sold.  At Sentrytrack, we created a remote monitoring solution for municipalities.  At webKPI, we solved the challenge of quickly calculating financial and accounting ratios.  We added a web-based #BI application and created dashboards.   Winner of a QuickBooks Awesome Add-On Award.

As a GM, we took on the responsibility post acquisition to optimize several ISPs.  We standardized product lines, defined territories, worked to expand the footprint and implemented technology to support customer acquisition and billing.       

Recently, as a business development rep, I was able to secure a large nationwide tax preparer as a client. Experience as a CFO contributed to success in selling to business owners and CFOs as I could relate to the pain of sales management. 
In recent years, I have been a speaker at three national conferences on KPIs.  As a thought leader, I wrote blogs for the Sleeter Group ( and wrote two e-books on #salescomp ( and the move to the cloud for accounting services (
