The Palladium Group has some terrific case studies and materials, though focused more on larger businesses.

For a growing company, I recommend the links: (http://www.quickmba.com/accounting/mgmt/balanced-scorecard/) and www.balancedscorecard.org (the Balanced Scorecard Institute) to learn more about the intent of the tool, and to then learn how to adapt it to your company.

Themost important thing to learn about the methodology, is that the formulation of the metrics, their intended measurements, the expected results, and the results' contribution to the company's strategy all need to be in alignment. If alignment is reached, you can adapt the approach to your needs. I found that I could seak to this better than I can write to it, so please send me a private messsage if you would like to speak further about it.
