How flexible are cloud applications in responding to changing metrics? (Webinar Attendee Question)

My law firm has changing data capture and monitoring needs based upon case specific information, case evolution and court orders.  How flexible are cloud applications in responding to the changing metrics?  Is change management more or less expensive than in house programmers?

This question was asked by an attendee during the Proformative webinar "The Evolving Role of Finance Leaders: Owning Technology" held on November 14, 2012.  A video of the webinar can be viewed here:

I would tell you that this is not a Cloud question but a business question. What it will come down to is how you capture information. If you tack transactional data at the level that will allow you to change the KPI for a specific need you should be fine. What I will say about some of the Cloud applications is that they do lend themselves to easier report writing and changing and/or adjusting metrics/formulas than say offerings like Crystal Reports and the like.
