Collection Agency

Rick Bigelow's Profile

Does anyone know of a reputable collection agency that they would recommend?  The intial claim is small, sub $2k, but I feel the workload may grow as the company I am helping grows.  I know it is probably cheaper to write this off, but cash is cash.

Thanks in advance.

Rick

Rick, what part of the country are you in, or is the debt in? I know an excellent agent who covers RI, MA and CT.

Rick, I am also interested in engaging a collection agent, in CT. I would appreciate the contact information for the agent that you would recommend.

My contact works RI and MA but apparently there are bonding requirements for collection agencies in CT that he does not have.

Would you mind sharing the names of any referrals?

Good Morning. If you're able to share your collection agent contact info, that would be helpful for me.

Many Thanks.

The debt is located in CA. The San Francisco Bay Area more specifically.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

There is no Collection Agency licensing in CA. That's one of the states we're looking to expand into and were surprised to learn that the legislature actually did away with agency licensing. There are only 26 states in which agencies have to be licensed.

I can highly recommend Debie Batterson who runs Emergency Receivables Doctor at www.erdcollections.com. Debie formerly worked for me in a $100MM company as my head of collections. Very professional, very persistent, great customer relations but still gets the cash. Can't recommend highly enough. Based in WA state, but can collect across the US.

I've done work with the commercial collection agency of the Atwell Companies: Atwell, Curtis & Brooks Ltd. Founded in 1979 they are a member of the Commercial Law League of America Bonded & insured, they also collect and remit interest.

They have a very impressive array of who's who of clients.
