For the select few who have completed both the CPA and CFA designations, was the sacrifice worth it? In other words, do you feel that the combination has put you at the spot in your career that you envisioned when deciding to pursue the second designation. I appreciate any feedback.

I am a CPA pursuing a CFA designation. I don't have public accounting experience, only corporate accounting. I was not viewed as having an "analytical" background nor a "Big 4" background, thus limiting further upside. Passing the first CFA exam has already allowed me to market myself differently and make a shift to an analytical role a possibility. My advice is to have a goal in mind, find out what your weaknesses are preventing you from reaching that goal and work towards improving those somehow. Also, network, network and network.
