Be more focused on your needs and the needs of the users of the CRM. I worked with a company that paid a tremendous amount for a SalesForce system. The company also populated the system with prospects from an outside vendor. But the Sales Manager usage was extremely low. You can have the nicest system, but if no one uses the system it serves no purpose. The better question - what are your needs?

I'll echo Regis' statement.

Needs Assessment. User Interaction. Vendor Assessment and with many of these Cloud based CRM systems, trial periods.

Make sure you hare a representative user group in the decision making algorithm!

There are some very solid low cost entrants in the SaaS space, some with very handy hooks into Google Apps et al. I like Zoho CRM. myERP has a lot of important basic functionality but comes bundled with some pretty dumbed down G/L functionality.

Depends upon your integration and flexibility needs, but 37Signals/Highrise is a simple low cost solution for a small business. You can even bcc an email address so the data feeds into the CRM.
