ERP Success Stories

We hear about the failures, the mistakes, the disasters. We all have nicknames for some of the software manufacturers (not all complementary), like "sap all profits" or "Irritable Bowel Syndrome." or "Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme".

Tis the season to be happy (or at least that's what I'm told) so why don't we talk about SUCCESS?

There must be some success stories here on Proformative with the broad array of talent that is us; so what were your SUCCESSES? Which software and how and why was it a success?

Allow me to get the ball rolling by stating for the record that if ERP stands for "Everything Runs Perfectly" then all such projects must be successes :)

My experience suggests that ERP systems need to be fed quality raw data and operated and used by intelligent thinking people having an abundance of commonsense and reasoning power. The several disasters I have encountered with these systems stem from superficial implementation without proper initial and follow up training of ALL staff.

Otherwise it is the old story of "garbage in, garbage out.
