Along the same lines, can anyone recommend a PTO tracker that is not costly? I am spending an inordinate amount of time tracking PTO through Outlook. THANKS!

I have assisted numerous companies select HR solutions. There are a number of factors to consider when making the HCM technology solution such as size, outsourcing payroll admin, degree of self-service desired, cloud or on premise etc. Some of the market leaders are Workday, Ultimate
Software, Vibe, Paycom, Ceridian Dayforce. Also have Oracle and SAP going after large global organizations.

We utilize Infinisource for our time tracking, payroll, HR, COBRA. I am very pleased with the accuracy, customer service, and pricing for these services. I don't currently utilize all the HR capabilities (certification tracking, etc), but those components are available for my use.

Reading your question about what "benchmark to use", may I suggest you change it to "what causes you to realize you need a new HR system" and "how do you choose one"?

I've used Gusto HR and been extremely happy with them. They integrate very well with both Quickbooks Online and Xero, and are steadily growing HR features (they have health benefits, time off, integrated with Deputy time-tracker, etc). Customer service is very responsive, and the system is very intuitive to use.
