RFP to hire a CPA firm to perform audit, multi-state tax return, and allocation of purchase price from stock sale

Our company was recently acquired along with another company in the transportation industry.  We will need to have an audit, multi-state tax returns, and assistance with allocation of the purchase price.  Does anyone have a sample doucment requesting a proposal from an accounting firm for services that they could share?

I highly recommend Sensiba San Filippo or Armanino McKenna. I can provide you with personal contacts if you want to follow-up.

Natalie,

I think you have your RFP right there in what you wrote. With regard to AJ; I concur that Sensiba and Armanino are great folks...you might check to see who is good in your region.

Back to the RFP; a letter with what you have plus:
-Customer #s, volume etc,
-States that you're dealing with (and if you are doing taxable or non-taxable)
-Prior work state (as in, when was your last tax return / audit, and by whom)
-# of years that you need to review.

They will have a battery of questions to get to the RFP, but the letter itself should suffice to get the ball rolling.

Cheers,

Keith
