Dear everyone, I recently passed one part of CPA exam (FAR) and plan to finish other 3 by December of next year (18 months). I will be 42 assuming I pass all on my first try. I don't expect any employment from big 4 but how likely is smaller regional/local CPA firms willing to take you on for an entry-level? I obtained my 150 hours from a different state so going to back to my university for a career fair is mood point at this time. I have been working in a financial management sector for few years but it is just a job and not a career. I would appreciate your honest opinions.
A newly-minted CPA at 42.

A lot of CPA firms will be hiring to gear up for tax season. I am not a CPA but work with a few. You have experience in financial management which will help and you have already passed one section of the exam, which is another plus. As long as you plan to complete the test you should not have problem seeking employment in a small to mid size firm.
