QuickBooks desktop is better than online why?
Read carefully
Did you know that 80% of new QuickBooks users are choosing QuickBooks Online vs. QuickBooks Desktop? first of all, You need to know the differences between QuickBooks Online vs. Desktop—whether you’re starting to use QuickBooks for the very first time or you’re a loyal Desktop user considering the change. All versions of Desktop (Pro, Premier, Accountant, and Enterprise) will receive the same features across the board—not a thing to help them maintain their separate identities. There will be no new versions of QuickBooks for Mac.
The desktop is now taking pages from QuickBooks Online. Intuit is prioritizing QuickBooks Online over Desktop. So as a user—where should you turn?
While I think it’s important to recognize how Intuit’s emphasis on QuickBooks Online will mean that product will get better faster, leaving QuickBooks Desktop behind, you still have to ask yourself whether or not QuickBooks Online is the right product for you now.
It depends upon the requirement of business and users. We can't generalize anyone to be better than the other. As far as popularity is concerned Quickbooks desktop does have an upper hand but it doesn't mean QuickBooks desktop is better for everyone.
As I said earlier it depends upon business requirement.
QB online seemed like a great option when I was working with a friend on her home based business. I could access her books without her laptop. However after trying the online version I had her change back to the desktop. I've been a QB user for years but the online version was so different I had trouble with some basic functions.
Ankit is correct. While QB has the lions share of the market in the US, it does not have that reputation worldwide. There are other vendors whose products "can be" (based on business requirements, likes/dislikes, etc.) better than QB.
My suggestion is to research the marketplace and see what your choices are before just settling on the most popular name.
I am also with Ankit because While there is no single answer to these questions, understanding the differences between the desktop and online versions can help people choose the one that is right for them and their businesses.
