Is SAGE 50 Accounting software the answer???

Sherri TD's Profile

I am looking for a solution which would allow use of Peachtree/SAGE software over multiple networks. I have a team of folks that are located in different parts of the country. After talking with the SAGE support team, I have been advised that SAGE 50 is not designed to be accessed by multiple people over multiple local networks. I know, however, that SAGE has a cloud solution for their basic Accounting One package. Unfortunately, all of the information has resided in Peachtree/SAGE for years. Changing packages is not an option. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I would like for all team members to be able to access all of the companies set up in SAGE, without having to "remote" in to the local network where the company resides. Apparently having to remote in to a company results in very slow access. Thanks in advance for any advice on this issue

It's time to examine other options. Data migration is just issues that you are facing.

You will want to take Sage at their word, as vendors will over-sell capabilites, so this clearly will not work with SAGE 50. You may want to look at NetSuite, or Intacct cloud offerings. Sage 50 is really a small and limited user group product. There are a number ov vendors whose products will better fit your circumstances.

Thanks for the info! I am stuck with the current solution for existing entities, but may look at another package to meet needs going forward.

Based on what you are wanting to do, I would go cloud either NetSuite or Intacct. I been using NS for 3.5 years and been very happy with the solution especially since I can handle users anywhere without dealing with all of the IT issues. For example, I moved our AP processing to India because I had more resource in India and NS was a perfect solution to send bills by email to them for processing.

The problem of suggesting a single vendor's product (or even a few) without understanding the entire scope of the business strategy, functional or technical requirements results in the following issue:

What works great for you, may not work great for them. Prior successes don't necessarily mean future results.

Only a properly conduct needs review, GAP analysis, review of potential systems and vendors/consultants (this is abbreviated) will yield (hopefully) the correct software solution.

Len Green and I have been doing a webinar for Proformative call FinTech Forum. This is the first topic (so far we've done 2 webinars on this topic).
