I haven't used Sage CRM or Sage SalesLogix independent of Sage's (former) MAS products for accounting (ie MAS 90, 200 and 500), but I was introduced to Salesforce over 3 years ago and became a big fan. So much so that my employers and then clients went in search of accounting solutions either built on or integrated with the Salesforce.com platform to extend the CRM through the "back end." Over the past 3 years I've moved into doing cloud accounting implementations focused on the force.com platform. What I can tell you anecdotally is that we seem to do a lot of Saleslogix and other system conversions for clients that basically "saw the light" with respect to the force.com platform and its flexibility to "plug and play" a rich suite of applications completely suited to their business. Salesforce.com is probably the undisputed "granddaddy" of CRM, and the community of application service providers that have built all sorts of custom solutions on its force.com platform is huge. When it comes down to it, technology solutions is all about the PLATFORM, and how well the platform "plays" with other apps, as well as how flexible and easy it is to create your own. You just can't beat Salesforce for that.
