Third party payroll and accounting providers for your overseas operations

Looking for second opinions on the support provided by firms in the UK to service both a newly formed UK subsidiary and other European countries where 1 or 2 employees may reside. Firms I've considered include: Radius (formerly Nair/Highstreet Partners merger) who appear competent but costly, MHLLP (MacIntyre Hudson) appearing very reasonable, USA2Europe, CCW (Crowe Clark Whitehill), and Fitzgerald and Law. In addition, for PEO services (Professional Employer Organization), I've noted Globalization Partners, who are good but don't check the box for every country in Europe. We may use a PEO in the countries where we can't work as a non resident employer from the UK. Any comments positive or otherwise on these providers or others are welcome, thanks much.

Hi Jeff,
We've had good experiences with Radius. On the PEO side you could also consider our Shield GEO service for places where you have no entity in country. You can see the list of countries we cover on our site.

As a small private company, we have been pleased with the services of Blick Rothenberg.

I have used Radius, and it was very expensive. For PEO in the UK I can recommend BatesCampbell, a small firm who handled our 3 person payroll there.

We have used the Baker Tilly office in the UK for audit, tax and payroll for a 2 person UK employee base. Not sure how much of Europe they can cover. They seem reasonable in their fees.

I've used CCW in the UK to run payroll for one person in Germany and to pay bills to vendors in various countries in Europe. They set up a trust bank account that they managed, which saved me the hassle of having to set up a European bank account without having an address in Europe. They were also helpful in setting up proprer contracts with European employees. I found them very responsive and easy to work with.

Hi Jeff, I am a Director and lead Consultant at MMCL ( Mnarani Management Consultants Ltd, Kenya). We have handled outsourced payroll for Azure Knowledge Corporation and Cognizant Plc. These are global firms that did not wish to set up offices in Kenya. We are competent, affordable and available to offer the same for any global partner

Hi Jeff. There are many firms entering the "Global PEO" space as companies and governments become more accepting of the practice. However most use partner networks to accomplish the task. Learning who the true employer is in the eyes of the government is important when considering this option. In some cases, workers can be established as independent or freelance workers, so an evaluation of the best way to engage the resource would be a good first step.
