Q&A Forum time tracking reasonable audit evidence

My organization has saleable services which are  not currently tracked.  Revenue is deferred until complete, cost is not deferred.

I haven't seen it, but our Sales Operations group is adamant that the time tracker in has adequate controls in place and can be used to create reports.  We have a time tracker in SAP, but supposely the SFDC one is more user friendly.

My long term goal is defer costs for certain transactions and apply proportional performance method in others.

Has anyone used for either of these effectively?

Yes; that one and others. As long as the process is defined and followed, it is perfectly OK as evidence. More importantly, that your team seems comfortable with SF means that the overhead shouldn't be too serious in implementation and upkeep.
