"Best", "reliable" and "secured" are terms that are widely open for interpretation.

If you engage in a "best practice" approach to picking a new accounting system, you'll be able to find "best" for your firm. You'll determine "reliable", based on your company's particular needs as well as secured (the software may be, but your network isn't and any variation in between).

Anon, I think the best way to answer the question "behind your question" is to start from a Needs perspective, not from a Software perspective.
Your company's needs:
-functional ( industry, what processes are unique/complex, your 5 year strategy...)
-technical (integration, SaaS, on premise...)
-organizational (multi entity/currency....)
-financial (budget, estimated savings/benefits...)
will/should drive your evaluation process.

Some accounting software works great in some industries, and the same product may be very ill-suited to others. It really is dependent on your needs.

If I may suggest, take a look at these two webinars that Wayne and I presented to Proformative members in the past year:

Hope they help, and feel free to message me or Wayne if any questions.
